Project Templates

Start a project from your organization's template, with document types, workflows and tags already set up from your document schedule.

A project template holds the set-up your organization repeats on every project, starting with its document types (with their codes) and its review workflows. Starting a project from a template means a new project is ready for its first submission sooner, set up the same way as the last one.

Starting a Project from a Template

1

Create a project

Start the Create New Project wizard as usual.

2

Pick the template

On the first step, under Start from a Template, choose your organization's template. Document types and tags are pre-filled from it.

3

Continue the wizard

Finish the remaining steps (role, details, documents, tags and team). Anything the template filled in can still be changed.

Everything stays editable

A template is a starting point. After the project is created you can add, rename or remove document types, workflows and tags in Project Config without affecting the template or other projects.

Getting a Template for Your Organization

Templates are built for your organization by the Document Ocean 360 team, usually during onboarding, and then made available in your project wizard. The quickest way to build one is from your existing document master schedule: a spreadsheet with a document code, a document name and the review actions for each document type.

1

Send your document schedule

Share your schedule (CSV or Excel) with your onboarding manager, or raise a support ticket. A sample layout is available on request.

2

We build the template

Document types are created with your codes and names, and review workflows with their steps (review, approve, acknowledge or delegate).

3

Use it

The template appears under Start from a Template the next time anyone in your organization creates a project.

Template customization is part of the optional onboarding package (see Billing). To change an existing template, raise a support ticket.
