Comments & Discussions
Collaborate on documents with inline comments, @mentions, threaded discussions, and real-time notifications.
Document Ocean 360 provides a built-in commenting system so your team can discuss documents without leaving the platform. Every comment is tied to a specific document revision, creating a permanent audit trail of decisions, questions, and approvals.

The comment panel appears below the document metadata and revision history.

Comment Features
Each comment supports several actions depending on your role and whether you authored the comment.
Comment Capabilities
Bold, italic, bullet lists, and inline code formatting are supported in all comments.
Tag teammates by name to send them a direct notification about the comment.
Reply to any comment to start a focused sub-thread without cluttering the main timeline.
Authors can edit their own comments within 24 hours of posting. An (edited) label is shown.
Only the comment author or users with elevated permissions can remove a comment.
Mark a discussion thread as resolved to collapse it and signal that the issue is addressed.
Editing & Deleting Comments
You can edit your own comments by clicking the pencil icon next to the timestamp. Edits are marked with an (edited) label so the team knows the content was updated.
Deleting a comment permanently removes it from the thread. This action is limited to the comment author and users with the appropriate role.
Admin Org Admins and Project Admins can delete any comment within their scope, regardless of authorship. This is useful for removing off-topic or sensitive content.
Deleted comments cannot be recovered
Once a comment is deleted, it is permanently removed from the system. If you need to preserve the discussion for audit purposes, consider resolving the thread instead.
Threaded Discussions
Click Reply on any comment to start a thread. Threads keep sub-conversations organized and prevent the main comment timeline from becoming cluttered. Each thread can be independently resolved.
When a thread is resolved, it collapses to a single line showing the original comment and a (Resolved) badge. Any team member can re-open a resolved thread if the discussion needs to continue.
